Contacts
In this module, you can create new contacts, import contacts as a file and manage contact groups. Follow these steps to create a new contact in NextGenSwitch.
Navigate to the Contacts Section
- Go to the Contacts module from the Contact Center.
- Click on the “Create New Contact” button.
Fill in the Contact Information
Use the form to fill in the following fields:
- First Name: Enter the contact’s first name. (e.g. John)
- Last Name: Enter the contact’s last name. (e.g. Doe)
- Gender: Select the contact’s gender from the dropdown options:
- Email Address: Provide a valid email address. (e.g. [email protected])
- Phone: Enter the contact’s phone number. (e.g. +1234567890)
- Contact Group: Assign the contact to an existing group or create a new one.
- Address: Enter the contact’s street address. (e.g. 123 Main St.)
- City: Specify the city. (e.g. New York)
- State: Provide the state or region. (e.g. New York)
- Post Code: Enter the ZIP or postal code. (e.g. 10001)
- Country: Select the country from the dropdown list. (e.g. United States)
- Notes: Add any additional details about the contact. (e.g. Preferred call time: Morning)
Save the Contact
- Once all the required fields are completed, click Save.
- A confirmation message will appear, indicating the contact has been successfully created.

Import Contacts
This guide explains how to import contacts into NextGenSwitch from a CSV or TXT file
Click the Import Contact button, a modal window will appear.
Download Sample Files
- In the modal, download the sample files for reference:
- CSV Sample Contacts, Text Sample Contacts These sample files provide the required structure for your contact data. Ensure your file matches the format.
Prepare Your File
- Open the downloaded sample file and enter the contact information in the respective fields.
- Save the file as:
.csv
for CSV format..txt
for plain text format.
Upload Your Contact File
- In the modal, locate the Upload Contact File section.
- Click the “Choose File” button to upload your CSV or TXT file.
Select a Contact Group
- In the Contact Group field, select an existing group for your contacts. If no suitable group is available, simply enter a new group name, it will be created automatically
Import the Contacts
- Once the file is uploaded and the group is selected, click the Import button.
- Wait for the process to complete. A confirmation message will appear upon successful import.
